Adventure through books, one genre at a time!

Designed for kids in grades K–5, Genre Quest is a fun reading challenge that helps young readers discover new stories, styles, and interests by exploring a wide range of book genres. It’s the perfect way to keep the reading momentum going all school year long!

From fantasy and historical fiction to mysteries and science fiction, this quest encourages readers to step outside their usual picks and explore something new with every book.

How It Works

Sign Up:

Stop by the Youth Reference Desk to register and pick up your log.

Read Across Genres:

Complete books from 9 different genres between September and May.

Track Progress:

For each genre you read, track the book title, author name, and your personal rating. After each completed genre, you can get your log stamped at the Youth Reference Desk!

Finish the Quest:

Complete all 9 genres and earn a reward for conquering the challenge!
